For the first round of the U16s Sister n Sport Cup competition, the team faced Cheadle Hulme. Cheadle started off strong taking the lead 6-9 after the first quarter. After a tough start, the team lead the start of the second quarter scoring the first 4 goals and with countless turnovers they began to take a strong lead, finishing at half time on 18-14. Unfortunately due to a Bury Grammar player injury the winning flow was disrupted and Cheadle started to bring the game back finish at 22-22 going into the final quarter. The U16s worked tirelessly to keep the lead. At the final whistle the match finished at 30-30, which lead to golden goal (first team to score wins). It was Cheadle's center and we managed a turnover to take it to goal, but unfortunately Cheadle turned it back and were successful with the final shot, winning them the match. A fantastic effort from all players and well done to Leia for receiving POM by the opposition. The team will now progress to the next round of the plate!
