Bury travelled hopefully to Lytham and were greeted by a combination of howling winds and driving hail. In the interest of keeping everyone relatively warm, we accepted the home team's offer to play 11v11.
After conceding a penalty, Bury adapted to this new format and gradually began to dominate possession on a congested pitch. Several chances were created involving good play down both wings. One passage of play featured and incredible goalmouth scramble which left many players and spectators wondering how the ball had not gone in.
Despite playing into the wind in the second half, Bury continued where they had left off, creating many good scoring opportunities. Then, against the run of play, AKS scored with a shot from distance. Then, Bury quickly pulled one back with Evan Flood finishing off a great attacking move.
Bury searched for an equaliser, but ultimately, it was in vain. Unfortunately, it just wasn't our day.
